There are 200 or so neighborhood blogs operating in New York City, and the Times assesses their current climate of commenting and not-so-surprisingly determines that gentrification is the topic that pushes everyone's buttons: "Fear or distrust of change underpins many of these debates, which frequently portray one side as defenders of traditional neighborhood values and the other as invading infidels, whether they be rowdy hipsters in Williamsburg or mega-rich developers with an eye on Harlem."
