A lot of attention was paid during the boom to the buying power of Irish investors (and rightly so?they consumed whole blocks of new Manhattan condos), but no one was minding the store while they were over here doing their thing. The Irish Times cites an economist's prediction that housing prices on the Emerald Isle could plummet 80 percent from their high-water mark, and demolition will be more prevalent than construction over the next decade.
