Cheyenne Retires South

New, 1 comment

Chelsea Now's report late yesterday that the Cheyenne Diner could be headed to Alabama after a deal to move the classic Ninth Avenue (at 33rd Street) diner to Red Hook fell through has panned out, according to diner activist Michael Perlman. Perlman says a Birmingham businessman bought the diner and plans to restore it and add a classic car museum and/or special events space. The Cheyenne's owner plans to build a nine-story condo building in the diner's place, because those are about as in-demand right now as freestanding railcar-style diners. [CurbedWire, previous]
