In his Gimme Shelter column today, Braden Keil reported on a new-to-market townhouse on the corner of West 147th Street and Convent Avenue up in the Hamilton Heights section of Harlem. It was a brief report, but enough to tickle our fancy: 117 years old, 6,000 square feet, 23 feet wide and a $4 million price tag. That much cash up in Ham Heights? We had to check out the listing, and we're glad we did. Currently owned by a TV journalist and a prominent plastic surgeon, the house is slightly out of control: billiards room with wet bar, screening room, a hot tub disconcertingly placed under a chandelier and plenty of original detail throughout. Oh did we mention the 10 bedrooms? We're thinking some epic sleepover pillow fights could go down in this house.
