Oh, no. No more press releases from Shaun Donovan. At least, not as Commissioner of Housing Preservation and Development. No, now they'll be coming from HUD in Washington. New York's housing guy was confirmed as HUD Secretary late last night. The leading candidate to replace him is said to be Rafael Cestero, a former deputy commissioner at HPD. We'd been so looking forward to Mr. Donovan explaining why it's okay to build all that affordable housing on toxic sites like Public Place in Gowanus and Willets Point. [TRE]
