Curbed Cup '08: We Have a Winner!

New, 3 comments

The ballots? Counted. The Magic 8-ball? Asked. The smoke signals? Deciphered. The three men in a room? Consulted. Friends, the people have spoken, and their demand that the Neighborhood of the Year crown be returned to Manhattan has been answered. Madison Square Park, with its wonky starchitecture, Daniel Libeskind daydreams and pending Versace invasion, has taken the 2008 Curbed Cup. The 'hood triumphed over the Far West Village, taking 56.6 percent of the final vote. Madison Square Park will receive the fake trophy from '07 winner Long Island City in an imaginary handover ceremony yet to be scheduled. Good luck to all competitors in 2009!
