43 MacDougal Street, a derelict three-story mystery building just south of Houston Street abandoned long ago, is falling further into disrepair, Scoopy's Notebook reports: "Last week, someone threw a garbage can through an old plate-glass storefront window on the building’s MacDougal St. side, leaving a gaping hole in the window. Compounding matters, someone pulled a fire escape ladder down onto the sidewalk on King St., allowing anyone on the street access into the vacant building." It's probably haunted by the ghosts of the old mafia hit men who used to hang out there, so enter at your own risk. [The Villager, third item]
