CurbedWire: One Hanson Wedded Bliss, Palace Hotel Renovations, Open House New York!

New, 8 comments

FORT GREENE?After failing to find a big retail tenant to take over the gorgeous space, the old bank lobby in One Hanson Place (the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower, of course) was turned into a high-end events space. A reader writes: "Just wanted to send you a tip on first wedding reception at One Hanson Place (mine). Although a few days late, here are a couple of pictures of what it looked liked inside." We're running the photos not because we love the space, but also because we're hopeless romantics. Mazel tov! [CurbedWire Inbox]

MIDTOWN EAST?Fans of Gossip Girl, take note. A tipster writes: "The entire Palace Hotel is closing in 2010 (not sure when in 2010) for an entire year for renovations. I believe that includes the banquet space as well, but am not 100% sure on that." Xoxo. [CurbedWire Inbox]

NYC?Architecture geeks, this is your time! According to the NewYorkology Twitter feed, the schedule for this year's Open House New York weekend is going live at 10 p.m. tonight. For events that require reservations, those will be taken starting tomorrow morning. The NYology blog has a preview of some sites that will be included. No Gramercy Park again? What the fuck, Arlene!
