The Man strikes again! Brooklyn Banks, the legendary skate park underneath the Brooklyn Bridge on the shores of Manhattan, is going to be shut down. Temporarily. Probably! The Downtown Express reports that the area?never deemed an official city skate park but, you know, c'mon?will likely be used as a staging area during the renovation of the Brooklyn Bridge. That work, by the way, is supposed to last until 2014. A Department of Transportation official said he wasn't sure when the Brooklyn Banks would close. When it does, will the East Village's East Side Community High School become the #1 skate spot in Manhattan? We're not cool enough to know.
