Three associates of the Luchese crime family have been accused of infiltrating the Department of Buildings, finding work as building inspectors. These inspectors allegedly took bribes for permits and overlooked violations. Oh, and there were the usual mobster offenses -- extortion, gambling, and drug trafficking. May be worth a footnote when those DOB inspector training manuals are standardized. [NYT]
