And now, the results of yesterday's PriceSpotter asking price guessing game...
Location: 240 Park Avenue South #9A
Asking: $3.25 million
Yikes! Our 2BR, 2BA PriceSpotter listing this week was in the Gwathmey Siegel-designed 240 Park Avenue South, and let's just say we now understand the perceived value of starchitecture. With just photos and floorplans and a few details to go on, most commenters guessed an asking price sub-$2 million. The seller, it seems, is more ambitious. There was a correct guess for the first time in a while, and for the sake of sportsmanship we're hoping it was fair play. Commenter tricky wrote, "3.25mm, Just over 2k a sq ft. redesigned building and lots of windows. So not worth it though. Very overpriced for what and where it is." One Curbedizen's opinion. Note to the broker: If you're pitching $2k/foot, try to spell the architect's name right.
