Report: Stuy Town Won't End World

New, 4 comments

Contrary to popular belief, the Stuy Town court ruling will not destroy the real estate industry in New York. That's what Crain's has to say after talking to a bunch of landlords and lawyers about the decision. Says one (pro-tenant) lawyer, "The landlord doomsday scenario is a bit overstated." Estimates on how many apartments are actually affected go as low as 5,000 (and as high as 75,000). For Stuy Town landlord Tishman Speyer, Crain's thinks it's more of a black eye than a beatdown. But not everyone agrees with all this. [Crain's; previously]
