All That Glitters

New, 2 comments

The Brooklyn Paper reports that some community members think the fresh-poured concrete sidewalks at the Fulton Mall don't have enough glitter. They claim the city didn't put enough silicon carbide, the stuff that makes the sparkles, in the concrete. But the glitter is there, the city says, buried under the surface (just like real treasure!). "The glitter will become more visible after profuse pedestrian traffic wears away the top layer," said the Department of Transportation's Chris Hrones. We're ready for "Treasure Hunters: Downtown Brooklyn." [BK Paper]
