Judges in a state appeals court laughed Michael Corbett, wannabe heir of late megalandlord William Gottlieb, out of the room yesterday. Corbett claimed his uncle had used "undue influence" to convince Gottlieb's late sister, Mollie Bender, to leave him the entire 150-property Gottlieb portfolio. But the judges begged to differ, calling Corbett's case "silly at best" and "scurrilous, unfounded character assassination." Is Corbett now out of the running as the next Astor? [NYP; previously]
