It's been a while since we've checked in on Blue, our favorite Bernard Tschumi-designed pile of pixelated glass. Eagle-eyed local blogger Lo-Down noticed that unit 2A is up for resale. The listing gives us an opportunity to wonder aloud whether the glow of LES starchitecture has faded since the heady days of 2007. The seller and broker of apartment 2A would answer with a resounding no: they're asking $1.15 million for the unit, which sold in March 2007 for $911,335. Next pressing question: what about this apartment makes it worth $1.15 million? The broker answers that, too: "With a built-in speaker/surround sound system, suspended and track lighting, and your very own 'Chico' mural just outside, this apartment will be the envy of all your friends....If you missed out the first time around, then call me today to see what this...tax-abated piece of art is all about." Oh, Blue.
