The desired 1,250' height of Jean Nouvel's planned tower next to the Museum of Modern Art got French toasted by the City Council, and blogger Lee Rosenbaum has some interesting intel on the fate of the approved 1,050' version. An attorney for the project said a "significant redesign" is in the cards so that 53 West 53rd Street retains the same amount of square-footage despite the reduction in height.
