The Chupster finally sold off its penthouse, but what's going on with downtown Manhattan's other famed palazzo, the Lower East Side's Palazzo Grey? The mutated former tenement on Grand Street briefly left the market but has recently resurfaced with a price tag of $7.5 million for its five units. That was also the asking price before it got pulled, but when we checked in on Grey earlier this year the price was $9 million (it was once asking as high as $13 million.) And did you know the building has tenants other than the gourmet sandwicherie at street level? There are still listings online for the triplex penthouse (asking $2.25 million) and a lower full-floor (asking $1.25 million), and both mention renters are in place through the summer. But why buy a piece of the palazzo when you can have the whole thing? We say splurge and then make ends meet on a steady diet of $5 footlongs.
