The Fortress of Plazatude, also known as BCRE's Grand Street Hotel down at the southern edge of Soho, has been growing for months. Now, with the addition of a big inverted high hat, it's crossed the T on top. This sky-high transfer beam, a little sister to the big mother down below, will support the shelter for a roof-top pleasure pen. At least that's what the folks at the hotel are hoping for. Some in the 'hood have different thoughts. The two sides have butted heads before, and a new battle could be brewing. BCRE is listed on the Community Board 2 November calendar regarding their liquor license, a necessary step before approaching the recently reprimanded SLA. But apparently the postpone-prone hoteliers have put off the pow-wow once again. C'mon, guys, let's get this party started!
