Red Hook Gentrification Watch: Pharmacy No Longer Afraid

New, 1 comment

For years Nate's Pharmacy and Surgical Supplies at 376 Van Brunt Street has had a thick pane of bulletproof glass separating employees and customers, but no longer! The Post reports that following a $200,000(!) renovation that included a $42,000 state grant, that bulletproof glass has been removed. Said one of the pharmacy's owners, "It’s a sign of the times changing for the better and a sign of a revitalizing commercial corridor." Not quite: Ikea still has that imposing perimeter wall made out of Ektorp sofas. [NYP]
