Brooklyn's tallest and potentially craziest building, The Brooklyner, is not ugly, its architect insists. Architect Randy Gerner told the Brooklyn Paper that, contrary to popular belief, the building actually "relates nicely to the cityscape." How? The building's color gets lighter as it rises, so it looks like the sun is shining, and the woven exterior makes the structure look less bulky. Gerner did not explain the design benefits of the beach. [BK Paper; previously]
