The major unresolved issue in the Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village rent-stabilization lawsuit is when and how much landlord Tishman Speyer should refund rent overcharges to market-rate tenants. Negotiations between the sides appear to have hit a roadblock, and the residents' lawyers are threatening more court action. Said City Councilman and Peter Cooper resident Dan Garodnick: "The holiday season is upon us, and the tenants should have the right to decide how to spend their money."
