New York magazine drops its annual "Reasons to Love New York" issue this week, tying a bow around the craziest 2009 ever. Ever. There are a few things that caught our eye, like this look underneath Second Avenue at subway construction for the T train (hear that, Boston haters?). Finally Upper East Side business owners can see the in-progress results of their constant misery: a huge cavern! New York also unmasks the Stuy Town 9, the market-rate renters who filed the lawsuit that led to the landmark rent-stabilization ruling against landlord Tishman Speyer. But for our purposes the most eye-catching item is the invitation extended to three designers to present new ideas for the always-in-progress Times Square. High Line landscape architect James Corner's vision of a Broadway marked by gigantic plants is the perfect balm for those of us who've been eagarly awaiting a new Honey I Shrunk the Kids sequel.
