City Makes Coney Land Deal Official, Marc Jacobs' Rental Bill

New, 1 comment

CONEY ISLAND?Finally, peace in our times. The city closed on its purchase of 6.9 acres of land in the Coney Island amusement district from nemesis/women's fashion maven/land speculator Joe Sitt, of Thor Equities. Sitt retains about six acres of Coney Island land to develop as he sees fit once the city gets the ball rolling on its Coney Island redevelopment, tentatively scheduled for the year 2165. What's Joe going to do with that $95.6 million? Hopefully a round-the-clock Shoot the Freak binge. Thanks to all parties for giving us an excuse to recycle that graphic. [CurbedWire Inbox]

CHELSEA?New York mag's JoRho reported today (as seen in Star Maps!) that Marc Jacobs is renting ex-Ranger Scott Gomez's penthouse in the Chelsea Mercantile until his Superior Ink townhouse is ready. A tipster tells us Jacobs is paying over $15,000 a month for his temporary digs. We're sure that during this holiday shopping season Jacobs would like to thank all the boyfriends and husbands out there for continuing to support his real estate splurging. [CurbedWire Inbox]
