What better way to brighten up these short winter days than with a big wall of reflective metal? Now that the sun is low in the sky, the blazing glow from the newly-installed facade on FLAnk's copper-clad condos at 385 West 12th Street bounces off the windows across West 12th Street and burnishes the beige stucco to a rosy pink. We can only guess what those neighbors are thinking, but that light sure could put a dent in an afternoon nap. Fear not, they can rest easy knowing they're in good company. Reflective facades are all the rage these days, popping up along the rails in West Chelsea and wrapping Gehry's growth Downtown. It could be worse: At least the folks in the Far West Village won't have to put up with a non-stop game of Lite-Brite.
