Rem Koolhaas had a bad 2009. The Dutch starchitect's first building in New York City was shelved, and his Beijing hotel burned. But 2010 is looking good! Rem and his band of hipsters are full steam ahead on De Rotterdam, three interconnected towers comprised of residential, commercial and hotel space. Koolhaas's gift to his hometown will, World Architecture News reports, be the biggest building in the Netherlands. Is our main man just setting himself up for more heartbreak? Nope! WAN notes that the city government is chipping in to make sure this crazy thing happens. Go Rem!
