Bryant Park's Fashionable Trash; Westbeth on Road to Landmarking

New, 7 comments

We're off to celebrate, but we'll be back next week with our annual Curbed Awards!

MIDTOWN?The garbage cans in Bryant Park are being replaced this spring, and the Bryant Park Corporation is asking the public to vote on three designs to decide the new look. The contenders are above, and you can vote right here. [CurbedWire Inbox]

WEST VILLAGE?It's a happy holiday for the artist-loaded Westbeth housing complex at Bethune and Washington Streets, known for its old smokestacks and preserved old piece of the High Line. The GVSHP tells us that the Landmarks Preservation Commission will hold a hearing on the complex's proposed landmark designation on January 12th. Westbeth is already on the State and National Register of Historic Places. And speaking of Westbeth, this cool photo of it just turned up in the Curbed Photo Pool. [CurbedWire Inbox]
