Broadway Triangle Frozen

With Atlantic Yards a done deal, the Broadway Triangle is stepping in to fill the big Brooklyn controversies void. The 31-acre rezoning of the industrial patch of land on the Burg/Bed-Stuy border is now paused following a judge's preliminary injunction, issued in response to a new lawsuit filed by the redevelopment project's opponents. They allege the rezoning process was secretive and excluded the area's minority groups. Around 2,000 new housing units hang in the balance. [NYT; previously]
