As is our yearly tradition, it's time to make up a bunch of awards and hand them out to the most deserving and important people, places and things in the real estate, architecture and neighborhood universes of New York City! Yep, it's time for the Sixth Annual Curbed Awards!
Last year's list was filled with towering odes to the real estate boom, dizzying wonders of starchitecture since waylaid by the economic bust. However, the good news is renderings are still cheap to produce, so the insanity didn't end in '09! But instead of deep-pocketed developers, we had to rely on design competitions and flights of architectural fancy to get our fix. Having done just that, we hereby present Curbed's Top 10 Crazy Architectural Renderings of 2009. Who needs financing to spur a bit of imagination?
