The buyers of a building in Ridgewood, Queens, were clearing out the basement of their new purchase when they came across (surprise!) a manual two-lane bowling alley buried under stacks of boxes. They think it was part of a Prohibition era speakeasy in the space. Blog Scouting New York snapped some photos of the liquored lanes, once oh-so-innocently concealed by a garment factory upstairs. The owners are hoping someone will want to use the space as a film or TV set. We're hoping some members of the new wave of speakeasies will embrace the bowling alley concept.
