Mayor Bloomberg is stepping up the campaign to take control of the development of Brooklyn Bridge Park from the state, even committing to throw $55 million at the park right away to help plug a pesky funding gap. If the city gets control, those opposed to further condo development in the park would score at least a minor victory: The plan to add up to 1,200 units would be on hold "for years," and maybe even forever if an alternative source of park revenue is found.
