Moneyman Ackman's Itty Bitty Upper West Side Auction Still On

The Upper West Side?nay, the world?has been waiting with baited breath for the results of investment honcho Bill Ackman's guest suite auction at 115 Central Park West, aka The Majestic. Ackman is moving up CPW to the Beresford, and as a result must also sell his tiny but meticulously renovated 322-square-foot hideaway on the 18th floor of the co-op. In his letter to Majestic residents, Ackman said an early bid of $950,000 for the space (which he purchased for $450,000 in 2007, pre-renovation) would do away with the need for an auction, which he'd be conducting himself, and which would also double as a wine tasting. Looks like the people want their wine: the auction proceeds!

The bidders will square off in Ackman's 19th floor abode tonight at 8 p.m., and in his latest letter Ackman says the highest bid over $300,000 will take the cake, as long as the buyer can close this week. Personal checks accepted! For any Majestic residents in need of a last look, the website set up to sell Ackman's main Majestic apartment also has photos of the tiny little guy downstairs (check out the link at the bottom of the page), reprinted in the gallery above.
