A developer's controversial plan to rezone a large South Williamsburg parcel and build an 800-unit apartment complex may be driven by his desire to salvage a bankrupt project elsewhere in Williamsburg, the Brooklyn Paper reports. Isack Rosenberg, whose triple-towered Rose Plaza on the River proposal was soundly trounced by the local community board, is in a $50 million hole on an unnamed condo venture with a Dec. 21 deadline to raise the cash or sell. The BP also hints that the board's rejection of the rezoning may have been influenced by feuding within the area's Hasidic community. [BK Paper]
