Inside the Country's "Dirtiest Hotel"

New, 8 comments

Blogger Mike Barish provides a play-by-play of a night spent at Times Square's Hotel Carter, rated by TripAdvisor as the "Dirtiest Hotel in the United States": "Arriving at the lobby, I noticed that the hallway was incredibly depressing. It's dimly lit, hideously carpeted and way too much of a reminder of The Shining...The carpet was weathered and worn. There was an exposed light bulb on the ceiling. It wasn't filthy. It was just sad. It began to dawn on me that the Hotel Carter may be the place where dreams go to die." [Gadling]
