Cedar Tavern Coda

New, 15 comments

We've all known for awhile that the condo building rising at 82 University Place wasn't going to include the second coming of legendary Village watering hole The Cedar Tavern, but today Grub Street speaks to the owner, who reveals he's liquidated the bar's innards: "[Owner Mike] Diliberto held on to some artwork, but sold the bar for an amount he won't divulge, to an Austin, Texas, team that plans to install it in a new venue." And of course, the obligatory plug for a project widely criticized as underwhelming at best: "It's been a lot of work but the condominiums are really beautiful. I'd like to live there!" Uh, okay! Listing here. [Grub Street/PDE]
