Fordham's controversial plan to build up on the school's superblock near Lincoln Center has suffered a big blow: Douglaston Development is backing out of its deal to buy a piece of the property and build a 50+ story tower. Fordham is trying to sell rights to make way for two soaring apartment towers, generating cash for the expansion?and plenty of ire from Upper West Side neighbors.
