The recently completed Grand Army Plaza version of Richard Meier's West Village glass towers, On Prospect Park (four closings and counting!), is a threat to area birds, according to the executive director of NYC Audobon. He tells the Post: "An all-glass building adjacent to the park is a deathtrap for birds. The design is a set-up. It's putting huge, uninterrupted, solid panes of glass adjacent to a landscape, and that's a recipe for disaster." Positive spin: Does this mean Meier is making air travel safer? [NYPost]
