New York Water Taxi prez Tom Fox is hoping the Water Taxi Beach on Governors Island will help get the state excited again about pumping millions into the old Coast Guard base's conversion to parkland: "At a time when Governors Island is looking iffy, I think the more excitement we can bring to the island, the better." He also wants to bring along a ride: "My vision would be to get a Ferris wheel in there. I also know there's a carousel in Brooklyn Heights that needs a home."
