The Cipriani family, embroiled in a long lease battle over Rockefeller Center's legendary sky-high Rainbow Room, will give up control of the venue on August 1. The Ciprianis had petitioned the Landmarks Preservation Commission to preserve the interior of the Rainbow Room in an effort to prevent landlord Tishman Speyer from converting it to office space (and to give TS a reason to keep the Ciprianis on as operators). It's not clear whether TS will carve the 65th-floor space into cubicles or search for new venue management. [NYPost, previous]
