The Brooklyn Heights Blog is on fire this afternoon with a most excellent series of posts investigating its beloved Montague Street and the question of whether or not the end is nigh thereon following the recent posting of at least eight for-rent signs. One gem line, from an interview with the owner of Heights Books, on the Catch-22 of the whole thing: "We'll spend money at the local businesses on Montague Street, but there aren't anymore and they are interesting because interesting businesses can't afford to be here. Degrade your property values so people won't have high rents!" [BHB]
