Brooklyn Kibbutzniks

New, 19 comments

Six twentysomethings have piled into a Crown Heights duplex, but living space is not all they're sharing. Their household is an "urban kibbutz," the communal/socialist way of living you learned about in Hebrew school, and in addition to splitting household duties they all contribute to one shared bank account. The group found their place in Crown Heights by driving through affordable neighborhoods looking for "For Rent" signs, but they want to move on?to Carroll Gardens, Gowanus or Bushwick, places that have "young energy with potential for like-minded people."
