Curbed PriceChopper: West Village's Mini-Meier Loses $4M

New, 22 comments

The intrigue continues at the Far West Village's "Glass Townhouses," the newish Charles Street building in Richard Meier's shawdow that sold two of its three apartments to an exclusive vacation club. The remaining unit, the 4,000-square-foot penthouse triplex, surfaced through Prudential Douglas Elliman in October, asking $16.5 million. One day later it was down a million bucks, only to be chopped again in November, and then raised a bit a day after that. The most recent cut, per StreetEasy, came in February, bringing the asking price down to $12.495 million, about a 25% overall drop since first hitting the market. According to the listing brokerbabble, "This published masterpiece has been all the buzz in the Architectural world," but maybe buyers are too drawn to the big swingin' Dick next door to be affected by the buzz.
