UPPER EAST SIDE?Much has been made of the effects of the Second Avenue Subway's construction on the businesses in the 90s, but what about points south? A tipster writes: "The MTA is building a graveyard on 2nd Ave from 69th to 74th Streets. This activity is for the expected subway entrances, so you can imagine the businesses will have to suffer twice as long, the building of the subway entrances and then the digging of the tunnel." Can't get enough MTA barrierporn? Another picture after the jump. [CurbedWire Inbox]
MIDTOWN SOUTH?More now on the conversion of the Hotel Breslin to the Ace Hotel, and all the magical wonders of that transformation. A tenant, after perusing the developer's response to various complaints, fires back: "Tenants of 1186 Broadway do not share the same address or entrance as the Ace Hotel, 20 West 29th Street. The tenants' lobby has been reduced to less than 100 square feet. Tenants will never see the inside of the Ace Hotel's lobby." Really? Where else will they leave the flaming bags of dog doodoo?
