The various feuds and squabbles regarding the redevelopment of the World Trade Center were settled just in time for the world's economy to curl up and die, so now World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein can't get cash money to build his three skyscrapers next to the Freedom Tower. He may go to his landlord, the Port Authority, for help in financing, but the PA may only want to help him out on one tower because of that Hudson River rail tunnel they still need to pay for. Further muddling matters: Silverstein's towers need to be at street-level before other parts of the WTC can proceed. [NYT]
