On the Racked: Brits Take Madison Avenue, Port Authority Gets Stylish, the Ikea Mobile, More!

New, 2 comments

The latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Midtown: Right this instant, the long-awaited sign switch from New York magazine to Burberry is happening atop 444 Madison Avenue. Burberry got the building's naming rights when it leased a bunch of space in the building after New York left for Hudson Square. We'd be interested in some sort of Burberk hybrid company, though.

2) Midtown West: More information on the Port Authority's transformation to a hub of fashion experimentation. Wait, what?

3) Red Hook, The World: Might IKEA be so upset about its shuttle service violations in Brooklyn that the company is planning on rolling out its own line of cars? Maybe! But what a cruel April Fool's hoax this would be.

4) Soho: Brace yourself, dapper Anglophiles. The Top Shop store on Broadway has gotten some official signage ahead of its grand opening in a little over a week. A little over a week!
