The Ridgewood Theater on Myrtle Avenue in Queens (but it's almost Bushwick) marched on toward landmarking?though only for the old movie house's limestone exterior?at yesterday's Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing, and the building's current owner told the LPC the Ridgewood will "reopen in July with a three-screen cinema on the upper level and a mix of shops on the first floor." The 2,500-seat theater was divided into a five-screen multiplex decades ago. [NYPost]
