Eater Tastings: Boulud's DBGB 'Less Than Two Months' Away, David Chang Defends His Duck, Cancun in Midtown, More!

New, 1 comment

This week's top dish from Eater, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) The Bowery: Above, the most important port-o-potty on the Bowery. Beyond that john is Daniel Boulud's DBGB Kitchen & Bar at the Avalon Bowery rentalplex. Says Eater, "There are two, and really only two, important takeaways from the photo. 1. This place is massive. 2. They're nowhere near done. Quoth a worker on site: 'less than two months.'"

2) East Village: One Mr. David Chang, mastermind of the Momoverse (Noodz, Ko, Ssam, Milk), has a few things to say about being targeted by the anti-foie gras army. He's seen where his birds comes from, and he's not bothered: "The ducks live a good life, free of cages and with plenty of area to roam. The same caretakers feed them and look after them and keep them relaxed and calm. These people care for and about the ducks – they don’t just force food down their throats."

3) Turtle Bay: "I don't know if you've ever been to Señor Frogs in Cancun, but it will be something like that." A Spring Break-style date rape factory in Midtown? To find out what place this restaurateur is talking about, you'll have to click.

4) East Village: Has has First Avenue mainstay Lanza's changed over the past 107 years? In ownership, yes. In clientele, not really.
