It's been a bad few days for the buildings on the World Trade Center periphery, with a brief halt in work at the rising Goldman Sachs headquarters and another potential long-term stoppage at the Deutsche Bank building demo. But as for the WTC itself, work appears to be humming along. The latest update from the Port Authority on the construction of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum boasts that over half the steel is now in place. This comes on the heels of the Times' report today that fundraising for the memorial and museum is still secure, even though some big donors are?shall we say?in a bit of a bind.
