Our amiga the Washington Square Park Blog informs us that the Landmarks Preservation Commission will hold its second hearing into Phase II of the Parks Department's Washington Square Park renovation tomorrow (though without public testimony this time around), but we're putting aside the controversy over fence heights and seating alcoves and cement humps for the moment to pose a question: Did you know you can go inside the Washington Square Arch? Well, not you, per se, but others can?and one of the chosen few hooked us up with the above spy shots from inside the marble arch, designed by Stanford White and built in the 1890s. Hey Open House New York folks: Can we get this on the docket, or what?
