A subcontractor has filed a mechanics' lien against the Plaza for $8,334.40 in unpaid labor (UPDATE: We're told that's a typo in the Habitat story, and the correct amount is the slightly different $8,334,000), and sure the condo buyers could be forced to repay the money, but that's not the most annoying part of the situation for the Plaza's residents. Owners in the flip-heavy landmark can't sell their units until the lien is lifted. So if you were thinking about shelling out $42 million or so for the old Frank Lloyd Wright suite, hold your horses a bit. [Habitat]
