On the Racked: M Willy Mania at H&M, Another De-Virginizing, Target's Billboard Takeover

New, 1 comment

The latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Midtown: Above, the seen just after 8 a.m. outside the H&M flagship on Fifth Avenue, before the storm that is Matthew Williamson for H&M went on sale to the public. Racked was there to preview the studded belt and peacock prints, and stuck around to cover the initial surge and its aftermath. Suffer for fashion, we always say.

2) Union Square: It's the end of an era on the southeast corner of Union Square, as the Virgin Megastore is set to begin a liquidation sale before shuttering next month. Expect things to start at 20% off and grow from there.

3) West Village: Minutes ago, we learned of Carroll Gardens' mildly disappointed reaction to a hand-painted Target ad going up on a brick wall in the 'hood. Will West Villagers (and Williamsburgers, per a commenter) have the same reaction?
